T crawled for the first time over the weekend whilst we were staying at Mum and Dads house. She is crawling up on all fours, which is different from the way M crawled - commando style.
She is getting her way around the house really well and is pleased that she isnt always stuck on her belly now!

sleeping beauty (s)
M & T have been great sleepers.
We were very blessed from day one with M. She slept thru the night at five weeks, which was fabo! She slept in a crib that we used from a work friend and then she moved into her own cot when she was 7 weeks old.
She would sleep from 10pm to 6am and then fall back asleep with me in our bed after Daddy had left for work and then we would hop up and have some breakfast and a play and then she would be back down for a morning sleep and then would have an afternoon sleep and then back to bed at 7:30pm. She didnt drop the morning sleep until after we moved to WW, so she was pbly about 15/16 months old.
At the moment she sleeps from 7:30pm - 7:30am (approx) and has one lunch time sleep that is around 1-3 hours long, depending on what we have been doing. She sleeps in her cot with Big Teddy, George, Schntiz & Blue Teddy. She has a pink wrap and a pink "happy". She can fall asleep without the happy, but usually asks for it.
The first time that we gave her the happy was when she was about 4 weeks old and was having trouble settling one sunday night, so we gave it a try and it worked, so it stayed... I continue to struggle with whether or not I should take it from her, but it provides her with comfort and she falls straight asleep when she has it, so I still dont know what to do.
T was a very up and down sleeper in the first few weeks of life, but that could have been due to the fact that we moved town and house when she was 4 weeks old. She finally settled into a good sleeping routine when she was around 10 weeks old, which is when she slept thru the night for the first time.
Before we moved, she was sleeping in a cradle from a friend because we were trying to sell the house, so had packed up the other cot already. She was in our room which meant neither of us got much sleep because she tossed and turned all night! When we moved, she went into a little room that was just off our bedroom and she was in her big cot in there.
She sleeps with a white happy and a purple teddy and purple hippo and also a monkey (that hasnt been named as yet).
At the moment, T sleeps from 7:30 - 7:30 (approx) and then has a morning sleep at 9am for about an hour and then also has a lunchtime sleep at about 1pm. If she is really tired in the afternoon, she will have a nap between 5-6pm, which sometime she really needs if it has been a big day.
Both girls were wrapped up whilst they slept for a long time. M went until she was around 9 months and T went until about 7 months, when she would roll over and get stuck. At the time that T stopped being wrapped, she started scratching her face, so to stop this we were putting little socks on her hands. This also helped with the cold weather!
I think they get their love of sleep from their Mumma!

22 & 9 months young - 18/4/2008
M is 22 months and 6 days and T is 9 months today. This first post is a catch up, hopefully they wont all be this long!
M counted to 10 today by herself, but went 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10. We were in the middle of a game of hide and seek and she was very proud of herself. She is speaking so much - every day she picks up new things to say. She is putting more and more words together to make sentances and she really knows what she wants and what she does not want.
T is almost crawling, she got up on all four points today, a really good yoga student! She almost crawled at playgroup, but stopped at the last second. She is getting frustrated from being on her belly so much, and has learnt to go backwards and sit up from lying down.
They both interact with each other more and more now, with singing and dancing games the favourites. M loves to do the Hokey Pokey and likes to pick what will go"in" next. T sits up and watches her whilst clapping and bouncing along to the song. They love having their bath time together and a new game is splashing each other, which makes the bathroom nice and wet, but they both have a great time doing it.
M is having one day sleep, which is straight after lunch time and usually goes for 1-3 hours. T is having 2 or 3 day sleeps still, with the one before morning tea and then lined up with M at lunch time. Sometimes she needs a late afternoon nap, which is around 5ish. They both go to bed at 7:30pm and usually sleep thru to around 7am. We have a great night time routine happening at the moment that is working well for both of them.
M is just getting her 2 year old molars, with the bottom two coming thru at the moment. She got all her teeth really quickly, which I will document later. T has got her bottom two teeth and it looks like more on the way.
Both girls love their food, with both of them eating 1.5 weetbix for breakfast and then sometimes toast as well. They both love fruit and vege, and pasta and rice is a favourite meal any night of the week. They snack on dried & fresh fruit, vegemite sandwiches and arrowroot biscuits. M has started having tiny teddies every now and then as well which is a big treat! They both love drinking water and milk. T is still having 3 b/f a day, but its looking like we will be dropping one of them soonish. She will drink out of a bottle, so if we have to do that we can.
M is wearing size 2 clothes mainly now, apart from some size 1 that still fits. She has always been right in the middle of the "grade" of sizing. T is in 0, and still in a couple of things that are 00. She seems to be on the higher side of the scale. They have matching stockings at the moment to wear under their dresses, and they look very cute.
Both of them love to spend time outside, which suits us all fine. M plays in the garden and digs around looking for worms and T is happy to sit on the grass and let the dog lick her feet. M esp loves going to the park, and we go at any opportunity that we can. M also enjoys Hide and Seek which we play around the house. Tonight she hid herself really well for the first time, away in our dark bedroom which was great!
The girls have daddy time on a saturday morning, which in summer worked well, as I could feed T and then go back to bed, and they would go out. But now that its winterish weather, its too cold to go out so early, so they have been waiting until after Ts morning nap. We also have play time as a family after dinner and before bath time.
We are currently going to church@5, which is good. We have started "toddler time" for M and W who love to sing "My God is so BIG". We usually do a craft and a story as well. M loves her bible time in the evenings with us. Her favourite story at the moment is Jonah and the big fish and she enjoys finding Jesus in the NT. She can also name John the Baptist, Rebekah- Isacs wife, Mary and all the animals.
We have just started listening to Louises tape that she gave to us at breakfast and lunch time and M has started to pick up some of the words to the songs. We have Justine Clarke playing in the car and as soon as we start the car she asks "sing" and we put it on. The song most requested in the last week has been "rain", and she can finish off the last words in most of the lines. She loves dancing to the Wiggles, and has done so since she was about 12 months old.
Well, thats enough for now. This whole idea was given to me by my sister in law, who had everything written down in books. I thought that this might be an easier way of doing it - we will see how it goes.

the start
i was going to start this sooner than what i have, but i will do my best to try and keep up with it now that its here.
this is a record of what i want to record for my children, of what they are doing and where they are up to. its not for comparing or bragging, but just because.
its mainly for my records so i can actually remember things and delight in the goodness that God has given to me.
